RTE

3 360° tools to boost the leadership of first-time managers

Energy / electricity transmissionParis La Défense9,500 employees

The client's request

RTE has been investing for several years in building the skills of its first-time managers (around sixty per year) so that their first experience as a manager is a success for them and for the teams they lead.

A blended programme of several days of management training is offered to these first-time managers.

Our response

To make these trainings engaging and effective, the first-time managers go through three 360° assessments throughout their training path.

At the start of the path, a first 360° on social style (personality profile) is carried out. It aims to help first-time managers know themselves better through the perception others have of them, and to develop their empathy and flexibility.

Midway through the path, their emotional skills are assessed through a second 360° based on the work of D. Goleman.

At the end of the path, a final 360° assesses the managers on their leadership.

All the 360° results are handed over and debriefed to the participants during the in-person training sessions. They contribute to the success of the training and to the first-time managers' skill development thanks to the various benchmarks these tools provide.

Result

Thanks to this programme, RTE has consolidated the skill development of its first-time managers, giving them concrete tools to develop their leadership and flexibility, while durably strengthening the performance and cohesion of their teams.
