Renewing managerial postures in the face of organisational change

Medical research / healthParis2,500 employees

The client's request

The Chief Financial Officer of the Institut Pasteur wishes to deeply reorganise her department: pooling certain activities, bringing certain teams closer together, client orientation, moving into new open-space premises. There are many changes.

She knows that, ahead of these changes, she must evolve the practices and postures of the Finance Department's managers, who are for the most part experienced people who have been in their post for a long time.

Our response

A 360° Leadership campaign is then launched, including the Chief Financial Officer and her N-1 and N-2 in hierarchical or functional management positions. This 360° leadership provides cross-perspectives on the leadership practices of the people assessed along 5 main dimensions:

  • Being an inspired and inspiring leader,
  • Encouraging initiative and innovation,
  • Being a caring and demanding leader,
  • Developing talent,
  • Cultivating one's emotional intelligence.

An individual debrief is organised, followed by a collective sharing of the results for the extended management committee of the Finance Department. These two stages in the feedback of results translate into the drawing up of individual development plans and collective work leading to a common managerial charter.

Result

The Institut Pasteur strengthened the managerial posture of its finance teams, aligning their leadership practices with a common charter, thereby fostering better cohesion and organisational effectiveness in the face of numerous changes.
